There's a lot of quotes about this: "you're the combination of the people you surround yourself with."
We tend to agree. if you surround yourself with 5 toxic people, you might turn into the 6th!. You need to surround yourself with POSITIVE people that encourage you. Different types of people are there for different reasons.
Below are the four types of people you should surround yourself to be successful in your artist career:
1. THE PUSHER
A Pusher is someone who pushes you to be best you can be. They make you question things, your choices, your direction.
2. THE LOYAL CONFIDANT
This is the person who loves you and will always be there to hear what's on your mind (Good or Bad).
3. THE ENERGIZER
Energizer are the people who have an infectious zest for life. Not only are they optimistic but they encourage you to dream big. Energizers leave you inspired and filled with ambition.
4. THE MENTOR
A mentor is someone who has already done what you are trying to do and is successful. They can guide you down the path letting you know what has worked and failed for them. Helping you avoid mistakes and point you in the right direction.
Some can push, some are there to confide in, some can energize you, and others are there to teach you!
The amazing thing about the year 2020 (and the internet) is you don't need to live near these people, or know them from your school or neighbourhood. Best way to meet them is through social media, artist communities, facebook groups, web forums, etc
